Some of the frequently used alternatives to sugars are:

- Agave nectar/syrup: used in many health foods, it results in metabolic disorders
- Other Sugar alternatives: Jaggery, Dates, Molasses, Beet Sugars, Blackstrap molasses, Brown sugar, Cane juice crystals, Cane sugar, Castor sugar, Fruit juice, Fruit juice concentrate, Grape sugar, Honey, Icing sugar, Invert sugar, Maple syrup, Barley malt, Brown rice syrup, corn syrup, corn syrup solids, dextrin, dextrose, glucose, glucose solids, maltodextrin, malt syrup, lactose, maltose, rice syrup, fructose, crystalline fructose.
